This past Saturday I was invited to and attended the Awards Banquet for Pierce Farms which is located in San Juan Capistrano. What a wonderful and VERY Inspiring evening I had!! There were a lot of people and tons of kids who were all students, friends, and family of Pierce Farms and it sure felt like they were all just one big happy family. What a wonderful program they have there!!!
They held a raffle in honor of Under the Angel's Wings Rescue and 100% of the proceeds were donated to UAWR and what a great success that was. Thank you to EVERYONE who donated items for the raffle and also to those who purchased tickets to support UAWR we could not help all of the horses without people like you who step up to help out. Thank you!
The highlight of the evening though was the awards. They had some great ones but the one I will never forget was Horse of the Year 2008 it was voted on by all of the families of Pierce Farms and the chosen one was Prince Victor who was adopted from UAWR. He has come a long way since being there and everyone truely does love him and he is spoiled as he should be. It is great success stories like Victor that makes everything we do from day to day worth every minute and every second it takes to care for them all. The best part is Victor went from rescue horse who had lost his owner to Champion in a matter of months. Victor was taken to the CGA State Championships and came home with a new saddle he won. That is amazing and truely inspiring!! Thank you Kelly for such a wonderful and touching speach about Victor which you told thru the tears and also brought me to tears. I almost started bawling when she presented the certificate you see to the right here to me what a wonderful honor to have one of our UAWR Horses become Horse of the Year. Goes to show that just because they are a rescue horse does not mean they have no worth or value.
This is one of the great success stories of UAWR.
Many thanks to Kelly, Lori, Courtney, and the entire Pierce Farms for providing all the love and care Victor could ever want and need!

Is Pierce Farms a therapeutic riding school? How happy Prince Victor looks in the pictures. Every horse needs groceries and a job to do, and looks like PV has both. Excellent!
ReplyDeleteI know you have plans to work on becoming a therapeutic riding center at UAWR (or you want to be a therapeutic riding teacher). What all is involved with that?
Pierce Farms is not a therapeutic riding school they mainly do gymkanna type events.
ReplyDeleteYes PV is a happy boy and I think he truly is happy to have a job, lots of good food, and plenty of love!
The first step for me and the therapeutic riding center would for me personally to become certified. There is a set of courses that I plan to take in order to accomplish that certification but, at this time funding that part is the hold up and the issue. So once thing are a bit better financially I will begin on that endevor and can not wait until that day!!!
