Did you know?

So as I sit here thinking over the idea of we need MORE hay yet again tomorrow I think wow Did you all know that for the Month of January that UAWR spent around an average of $504 per WEEK, Just to feed the horses here. It is amazing how quickly things add up around here for costs.

Luckily we had all our wormers donated this month for worming but imagine just that along runs around $120

To trim horses feet we are looking at $525 per month to do half of our horses and $525 for the other half the next month.

So did anyone Make a Difference this wonderful Monday?

  1. I am surprised that you can't find people who are in "the business" (vet, shoeing, hay, hauling, tack, equipment, ??) who are not willing to help.

"Help" comes in many forms--discounts, donations, willingness to advertise on your site, etc.

I mean, yes, times are tough for EVERYONE, but by the same token, doing good deeds without an eye on getting full price (in advertising it's called "goodwill") often pays big dividends.

Do you offer memberships in UAWR? Old Friends' memberships are $150 each. I'm not sure what members receive for their membership other than a tax deduction--maybe they get a tote bag or free t-shirt and a membership card or a brochure or booklet with pictures of the retired horses at OF (retired or pensioned stakes race winners, many of them), or what, but maybe that would be a way to earn a little extra money for your hay and shoeing needs if you can't find someone willing to sponsor the treasure or discount their services or goods for you.

Just thinking off the top of my head here.
